Three days of storms in the Southeastern U.S. states, including tornadoes, flash floods and hail, have left at least 45 dead. North Carolina had the highest death toll with 23.
Fourteen died in Bertie County in the Tarheel State, CNN reported. Gov. Bev Perdue declared a state of emergency for the entire state, according to the North Carolina Division of Emergency Management. Camp Lejeune reported substantial damage.
At least six states were hit.
"As of early Saturday evening, there have been more than 210 reports of tornadoes from the Plains into the Midwest, Deep South and Carolinas since Thursday," Accuweather.com said.
