San Marino, a Small Country That Has No Flat Land



Republic of San Marino is the fifth smallest
country in the world and surrounded by Italy
precisely in the north bordering the province of Rimini, Emilia-Romagna region and in the
southern province of Pesaro and Urbino, region Marche.


San Marino is the oldest constitutional republic in the world, was formed on 3 September 301 by Saint Marinus of Rab, a Christian stonemason who fled at the time of religious persecution by the Roman Emperor Diocletian.
